Every clan is different, it isn't just the ol' light vs dark system. They all have 'personalities'.
The Argern: Selfish, arrogant, intelligent and merciless. They vary from day to day. One day they could be attacking you for no reason, the next they could just stand around while you destroy them. Usually though, they keep to themselves unless they have to fight.
The Desordre: These are a mixed bunch of personalities, who seek freedom from law and order. The Desordre may have the most 'fun' but they are always in a state of social and political chaos. There is little enforcement of rules, s fights break out and in extreme cases, the ruler has been known to change every fortnight... Still, if you seek an escape from war, this is the way to go.
The Vantarsi: The Vantarsi are the glorious, proud warriors who grace the land of Aphotic with their very presence... Or at least they seem to be. They are proud and vain and many are corrupt. They have an inner longing to be in charge and as a whole, they wish to control the entire range.
The Ombra: Jealous, spiteful, arrogant and just plain bad... Well some might see it that way. They hate the Vantarsi and will do anything to stop them gaining control of Aphotic. They are skilled in battle, and get on well with each other but don't with anyone else.
